Firstly I would just like to wish Captain Rob a full and speedy recovery as I am sure you all do.
First track session of 2020 on Tuesday the 7th, and what a bumper turn out to kick off the new year. After two or three warm-up laps and a few drills, it was time for the monthly timed mile. Still seeing some good improvements. Thanks to Alison, here is a copy of the recorded times so far:

Plenty of parkrun action this week including 10 runner-up finishes and a first place at Barking for Joe Stacey at last, although he’d better look over his shoulder as Rosie is catching him up fast!

South Essex Cross Country League round 3 at One Tree Hill was the main Club event for this week and an excellent turn out from Barking Road Runners once again, mainly for the tea and cake [hey, we’re serious athletes! – Ed] but first the small matter of an approximately four and half mile course with its fair share of mud and hills but, unlike round 2, there was no swimming at this one. Once again Ron’s tea bar was in full swing before the race with much-needed tea and coffee for the troops.
