Tuesday’s track session was a touch on the windy side to say the least. But the windy and wet weather didn’t dampen spirits and those that attended enjoyed the session – well, the parts with the wind behind them anyway! After a warm up couple of laps and a few drills it was time for 10 x 3 minutes with 90 seconds recovery.

Next Tuesdays track session
Thursday was split between another tough hill session with Ilford AC at Redbridge Cycling Centre for some and the Thursday long Club run from Castle Green for those who didn’t fancy more hills. Whichever one you chose, you got wet.

Sunday was the 30th anniversary of the dreaded Benfleet 15, the race where everyone says never again but still sign up for the next year. Regulars at this event said it was the muddiest they had known it. Add to that plenty of hills and it was a gruelling race but at least the weather was kind.
