On Tuesday evenings we meet for a track session at the Jim Peters Stadium, Mayesbrook Park. Our sessions cater for a range of abilities and experience, including complete beginners.
On Thursday evenings we meet at the Castle Green Sports Centre, based at the Jo Richardson Community School, Dagenham, for group road running. As a newcomer, we’ll make sure that someone will be accompanying you throughout the session.
We also meet regularly on Sunday mornings at Hainault Country Park for off-road running.
If we’re taking part in a race then we may not be at our usual location. Please feel free to contact us to confirm where we’ll be, or if you have any questions about our training sessions.
Many of our members take part in races. If you join our club you won’t be under any pressure to race, but we’d certainly be happy to give you advice and support if you do!
During the summer months, we take part in the ELVIS league, as well as a series of road races of varying distance for our Grand Prix (club championships). We also organise a series of handicap races for our members.
Over the winter we take part in the South Essex Cross-Country League and the Chingford League.
As well as the above, you’ll often find our members taking part at races across London and Essex.
Social running and parkrun
Our Thursday-night sessions are great for running and having a chat, and a highlight of our Tuesday-evening and Sunday-morning sessions is having a natter afterwards over a hot drink and snacks. Many of our members also take part at parkrun events in the local area, which are also great for making friends.
We organise a number of social events throughout the year, too.
Many people have a dream of taking part in the London Marathon, and we can help turn your dream into reality. As well as our training sessions, and the benefit of tips and advice from experienced marathon runners, we also have a number of London Marathon places available each year for our members. Our marathon places are offered to members on the basis of points awarded throughout the year by participation in club events; the more you take part, the better your chances of securing a marathon place!
