Barking Road Runners were formed in 1984 and are affiliated to both the South of England Athletics Association and the Essex Athletic Association  We are a small, friendly club with around 60 members ranging from sub 3hr marathoners to the more leisurely Sunday morning joggers. The club meets every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 19:15 at the Barking Abbey School Leisure Centre, Woodbridge Road, Barking, Essex (MAP) for group training sessions of varying pace and distance. You will be more than welcome to participate in our Cross Country, Handicap and Grand Prix series of races, as well as the numerous social events held throughout the year. As a club affiliated to both SEAA and UK Athletics, we have guaranteed Flora London Marathon places each year. The club welcomes all members regardless of race, religion, creed or sex. The club affairs are managed by a Committee, elected yearly at our Annual General Meeting. They meet at Barking Abbey School on a number of occasions during the year.
